Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein
Structural reinforcement of the hair fibre.
Hydrolyzed wheat protein consists of low-molecular-weight peptides and amino acids obtained by breaking larger wheat proteins into smaller fractions. Their affinity for keratin allows these peptides to deposit on the hair surface and interact particularly with porous and damaged areas of the fibre.By forming a lightweight protein film, they help reinforce the hair shaft, improve moisture retention and reduce the effects of mechanical stress. The result is a fibre with improved strength, elasticity and surface integrity, particularly relevant for dry, porous or structurally weakened hair.
Panthenol
Hydration and structural resilience of the hair fibre.
Panthenol, the provitamin form of vitamin B5, is a highly effective humectant with strong affinity for the hair fibre. It attracts and retains moisture within the hair shaft, helping improve flexibility, elasticity and resistance to mechanical stress.
By supporting hydration within the fibre and forming a light conditioning film on its surface, panthenol helps reduce dryness and brittleness while improving softness and manageability. Its role in the emulsion is therefore not simply cosmetic conditioning, but maintaining the hair fibre in a more hydrated, flexible and resilient state.Castor Oil Propanediol Esters
Lipid conditioning and protection of the hair fibre.
Castor Oil Propanediol Esters are modified lipid derivatives of castor oil, designed to combine the emollient properties of its fatty acids with a lighter, more uniform affinity for the hair surface. They form a thin conditioning layer along the cuticle, helping to reduce friction between fibres and limit moisture loss without the heavy feel associated with unmodified oils.By improving cuticle lubrication, they reduce mechanical stress during combing and handling, helping protect the fibre from roughness, tangling and breakage. The result is smoother surface architecture, improved flexibility and softness, and a more cohesive hair fibre with enhanced shine and manageability.
Broccoli
Lipid smoothing and cuticle protection.
Broccoli seed oil has a distinctive fatty-acid profile, particularly rich in erucic acid, a long-chain monounsaturated fatty acid with excellent lubricating and film-forming properties. Its affinity for the hair surface allows it to form a thin lipid layer over the cuticle, helping reduce friction and smooth irregularities along the fibre.
This surface conditioning improves slip, softness and manageability, while reducing mechanical stress during combing and styling. By enhancing the alignment of the cuticle, broccoli seed oil also increases light reflection and therefore the hair’s natural shine. Its role in the emulsion is primarily lipid conditioning and protection of the hair fibre, rather than simply providing an oily or occlusive effect.
“Hair resilience depends on how well we protect its structure.”
